What is the Connector Hose Heater Control Valve all about?

The heater control valve is attached to two connector hoses. One hose brings coolant in to the heater control valve from the engine and the other hose allows it to flow out to the heater core. The heater control valve pumps coolant from the engine to the heater core, which will then be released into the cabin as warm air. The hoses provide the structure for the coolant to travel.

They are attached to the components by clamps. When they have cracks or breaks, the coolant leaks out and won’t allow the vehicle’s interior to heat up, resulting in a cold ride. The hoses are made of various materials, such as rubber or heavy-duty plastic, and they can wear out over time. When this happens, the hoses will need to be replaced to ensure the heater continues to work effectively.

Keep in mind:

• The control valve has two connector hoses; since they are installed at the same time and are the same age, it is a good idea to replace both hoses together.

How it's done:

• The Connector Hose Heater Control Valve is verified that it needs to be replaced. The coolant is drained from the radiator till the level is below heater lines.
